Do personality tests (like Myers Briggs, Human Design, Personality Dimensions, Enneagram, 16 Personalities, etc.) diminish the quality of being curious?

If we label someone based on the results of one of these tests is this the lens through which we then see them and interact with them?   If we see someone through this label or lens what might we be missing?

If  we put a label on someone or put them in a box, are we truly seeing a 360 degree view or simply the 1 degree view of our own perspective of this person?    What would happen if we removed the label, took them out of the box and assumed we knew nothing?   I wonder how much richer the conversation would be and how much more we would learn and what depth of connection we could create.   Imagine seeing another person with awe, wonder and curiosity instead of an already preconceived idea of who they are.

I am not the same person now that I was 2, 5, 10 years ago.  In fact, there are times where I feel I am not the same today as I was yesterday.    So why do I assume you are?

I know I have had bad days and shown up not as the human I want to be. The people who interacted with me on my bad day most likely have a different perception of me than those who get me at my best.

Why do I treat you as if I already know you?  When I do that I am basing our interaction on my past perception of you and you may be different today than yesterday.

What if I approach all my interactions with curiosity and open mindedness……imagine the possibilities for magic to happen.

Perhaps this will be my experiment for today.
